Our work seeks to connect people with government social protection schemes, overcoming obstacles like misinformation and bureaucracy. By partnering with various stakeholders, we aim to empower citizens with the means to escape poverty and achieve social advancement.
In Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, a pilot project revealed barriers to accessing welfare schemes, such as misinformation and bureaucratic challenges. Addressing these through awareness campaigns and enrolment sessions, the project successfully distributed benefits worth 300,000 INR across 400 households. This success led to the expansion of the initiative into CAAP, aiming to help communities access welfare schemes and combat poverty.
The project aims to improve access to government social welfare programs in Malihabad, Lucknow, by overcoming existing barriers and advocating for policy changes. It will employ a dual strategy of practical implementation and research to connect the community, particularly low-literacy, agrarian, and economically vulnerable groups, with these social protections.
· Increased awareness and access to social protection schemes in the targeted region.
· Increased accountability of the local government.
· Evidence generation on social protection schemes.
· Empowering vulnerable communities.
