We will conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify the essential needs of target communities, crucial for their socio-economic advancement and link them to the available social welfare schemes.
In collaboration with local government officers, community leaders and other NGOs, camp-based facilitation services would be provided to each of the 6 intervention units on a rolling basis. The aim of these camps will be for the community members to register for identified schemes, seek clarification for the documents required and understand immediate next steps. This will ensure that all community members fully comprehend the requirements, documents, benefits, and enabling procedures. This should ensure that the community is truly provided with essential information and documents to hold the government accountable even after our project activities finish.
1. Publications: Our research arm will publish articles based on findings from the project, conducting in-depth analyses on shortcomings of the design and delivery of chosen schemes. Through our research we will provide recommendations to the government for optimum implementation strategies for future implementation.
2. Advocacy through Policy Briefs
i. In cases where no suitable schemes exist that address the needs highlighted by the targeted community, we will advocate for their introduction through policy briefs, providing actionable recommendations to effectively address these gaps.
ii. Identified gaps in existing schemes will be highlighted and presented with actionable insights for their improvement.
To carry out these activities we are hiring project staff. To see more details and on how to apply please see below.
